I guess I need to make some cookies...

I was making lunch in the kitchen and Ezekiel comes in and says, "Mom..."
I stop and look at him, "Yes Ezekiel?"
Ezekiel walks around the island and eyes me from the corner of his eye and says," Mom, I think you have forgotten how to make cookies."
I just had to laugh. I don't usually do a lot of baking in the summer, but it is getting cooler out. Then there is the whole thing of Steve not eating sugars. So it has been awhile.
Thank goodness for little reminders. I loved how he suggested this. So cute!

The sharpie incident....

Levi is an amazing artist, very creative... all over our sheets. Our sheets have red permanent marker all over them. I have washed them a few times used all sort of concoctions, now it is hot pink. I think that I'm going to bleach the sheets and make them tie-dye. I could throw them out, but they are good sheets. Anyone else have any ideas? Our little guy is making me more creative. We will see if I can pull anything off.

Other things... Adelaide has taken up to three steps! It is amazing how this one step in life is so exciting. I just love seeing how they go from very unsure to a little more sure. I love it. They get excited about the whole thing too. Other little steps don't seem to make them smile. I'm looking forward to not having little fingernails digging into my calves, and me being afraid to move(this happens every time I'm preparing food in the kitchen). I'll have to get my running on though, she likes trouble.

OUR FIRST NIGHT OF VACATION...

This year we went on our first "official" vacation. I picked out where and had lists of things to do while we were there. I picked Wellfleet, Ma(thanks to the magazines at the pediatrician http://familyfun.go.com/family-travel/places/feature/beach-paradise-bum/beach-paradise-bum.html) A little town on the cape known for their oysters. We decided to go in the off season, half the price and less people. My parents and brother's family joined us for labor day weekend. We had so much fun with everyone. We are very glad we did it....

We arrived Late and tired. The traffic only let us go about 40 mph average. We got a bite to eat and then headed out to the beach. My Fam had been there for hours waiting for us. We were really happy to be out out of the car and in the fresh air and a little rain.

Ezekiel went to the business of being comfortable. He stripped his shorts and was in his spidey undies. So funny:) Ezekiel and Lana got really wet, mostly due to tripping. They loved it. Levi and Luke weren't so certain.

And much more to come about our trip.... I need to go through lots and lots of photos, good luck to me.

recap/update

We arrived home from Vermont on two sundays ago and Levi has a slight fever and a little diaper rash. Nothing to be too worried about right? The next morning he had big swollen lumps in his daiper area. Steve ran him to the doctors and they sent him to the hospital. Levi had a really bad skin infection. He was in the hospital for 4 nights and 5 days. He got out just in time for our vacation. Steve was awesome through this whole experience. I didn't think that I could handle the first day, so he did it all. I would not want to see the I.V. put in. He was so great for dealing with the hospital for two days. So this is Levi in the hospital. It was a fun experience. I think that I would like to be done with hospitals for the rest of my life. They are not fun.
They had a great playroom, that all the kids loved.

Levi called it his playroom, his cars, his house, his horse.... there was no one else to share with besides the kids when they came. He was very happy to be back with his toys for one day.

More Vermont

spilled popcorn and everyone is enjoying it.
The kids playing dress up... vets I believe.
How big the blueberries really are.
Todd drinking the leftover syrup at sugar and spice. Don't worry it is totally organic. He downed it all at once. We were thinking about it... is there any kind of maple syrup that isn't organic? That would be weird if there was.
